Cherry Master and 8 Liner refer to the same type of machine, cabinet, game or game board. 8 line or 8 liner refers to the total number of ways a single play has to win. Symbols are arranged in a 3 by 3 format similar to tic-tac-toe with each winning line consisting of three matching symbols in a row. There are three across, three down and three diagonal winning lines. Cherry Master refers to one of the earliest most popular 8 liner game of its time, called Cherry Master. Cherry Master was created by the Japanese company, Dyna Co.,Ltd in 1989. Cherry Master had a 'revolutionary' new method called 'Cherry Bonus'. Do to it's revolutionary 'Cherry Bonus' and it's overwhleming popularity, 8 liner games have been called 'Cherry Master' ever since. Hence, the terms 8 line, 8 liner or Cherry Master all refer to a typical 8 line game.
